Below is a summary of what you need to know during the collection. These will be discussed in more detail in the following lessons.

How to get started with ALAP collections:
- Sell the idea to your club and gather a core group of enthusiastic ALAP members.
- Choose a shop with enough space for a collection point and volunteers and agree a time with them well in advance.
- Identify a partner to distribute the donations and agree on a delivery schedule, taking into account peak times of need, such as holidays.
- Plan continuity for the collection by organising it regularly so that clients learn to recognise and expect it.
Things you need:
- You will need marketing materials such as flyers, posters, roll-ups, and advance notices for the store bulletin board.
- Consider whether your club already has club vests and other necessary props.
- Consider who could photograph and share the collection on social media.

Assign tasks and responsibilities:
- nsure club members are involved well in advance, for example at a club meeting, and clearly assign responsibilities.
- Designate people to be responsible for various tasks, such as accepting donations, marketing and documentation.
- Collect feedback after the collection and document lessons learned for the next collection.

Exercise
Make an initial plan for the collection. Think about which shop would be suitable to organise the collection and who could be involved.
